Lacardis Prime : Twisted Wood : A rabbit’s tale

SirNeroBanpaiyo: The tragedy exactly twelve hours ago was as if forgotten, as if the event was now passed down. The villagers didn’t care, the burnt houses were replaced by freshly decorated houses, the swords and sandals were replaced by men in boots and leather suits. Formal, golden rings, golden necklaces and so on. The steeds used for the mount of death was now used to deliver the noblemen and the business men into the magnificent town center. In which, stools made up of the finest materials were seen. And the greatest silks were used for decorations, the smell of roses and wine were present. The event managed to hide the fact that the village was open for another attack. But not now. The swords were hanged for now. It was a celebration of a new leader. A leader the Prime Minister personally appointed. Which was Uriel. The man was in front of the mirror in the small dressing room inside the flat. Red silky suit, checked. Boots, checked. Staff? Check. His sword was at the wall along with his battlesuit. So he was as if as innocent as a prince, powerful yet calm. Which was nothing like Uriel but whatever. The man walked twirled one last time before smiling “There we go..” He snickered. He looked handsome, as if he didn’t really. But he never flaunted it, because he had scars. Scars present from the death of opponents and the shields of champions. Or women trying to claw him because he got them pregnant. Uriel, however. Left that behind. He was going to be a politician. And..well, he needed to behave. So, without further notice..he walked down the house, towards the black carriage, made up of strong ash wood. Uriel stepped inside the said carriage, and watched as the man drove off to the gathering. Minutes didn’t pass until he reached the path, he walked outside the horse and walked towards the backside of the hall, using the back as an entrance. And he paced around hissing “LORELEI!!!!” he knew she would be here, sooner. Or maybe she was already.

LoreleiRoseCarrendar: – Oh, she was ready. Standing in the chambers of her simple stone and timber dwelling, she was now adorned in the finery of office. That of a golden and red suit, complete with chain mesh beneath, long elaborate gloves with sharpened peaks at the shoulders, her knee length boots, and matching sash around her waist, coupled with an emblem enriched buckle of her station. Standing in front of her mirror, she turned side on and then placed a hand upon her stomach. She knew. She felt the kick within. So, she was to be with child, and not just anyone’s but Baldrick’s. This would not go well. Frowning, she nervously picked at stray hairs that had escaped her pony tail, and a final raise of the chin, proud of who she was, she marched right up to the mirror and said…to herself. (Lorelei)”Never let them see the truth. Not even ….him.”- she glanced down at a small picture on her bedside table. It was of Captain. The one man on this god forsaken planet that she truly loved. Looking back up at her reflection, she wiped away a stray tear, and then sniffed loudly, before spinning on her heel and marching out her chamber doors, hearing her brother call out from the side of the black carriage. “LORELEI!!!” -he did yell. She emerged, looking pristine and aloof. (Lorelei)”Lets get this show on the road…Shall we?”- Lorelei would breeze past curious onlookers as she made her way into the Town Hall. <e>

PsycheNiamhGwydion: -Niamh had been walking for hours after the succesful hunt. Looked at the comfortable rock He passed, wondering if He should sit lazy and watch what He loved most; The nature surrounding Him. Eversince He left home, He felt like He was in some kind of other deminsion. Unsure what had brought this ‘feeling’ or even the thought, He neglected to look at the comfortable rock to rest and walked on. The horizon came insight when He left the woods, fields of grass greeting Him. His tred careful not to destroy the un-trodden paths where the gras was still standing straight, this day. He was completely in His element, wanting to go somewhere yet unsure where, but pleased with what was inside His head on thoughts. To many to count that was. His hand raised to His forehead to look abroad, without the early sun taking His visual. In the far He spotted what seemed to be a village, His mind set on being there and hopefully visit the saloon or Inn, to get a drink and even a rest. If the ones in the village were friendly. Of course He did not know. Fearless as Niamh was He marched till He reached the wooden/ iron-gates. As He stood in front of them, He rattled the bars to find an opening or even if they gates were open. When they did not open by themselves and there was no responce to Him shaking the gates wich made a sound that should be heard by any living sould inside. He spoke with a clear voice.-”Hello… Is someone here? Niamh is the name. I come from Clashing, way up North… Come in peace, so needles worry-ing. Just need a drink and a place to sit.”-Spoken the words He thought it would not be a bad thing to even enjoy some company there. He awaited to be let in, while He took of His sword and placed it next to Him on the ground and did the same with His back-pack. His cloak still on His back. Noticable being a hunter, making the gesture to put His weapons down, just for the one to spot Him, knowingly it would be safe, from His side that would be. Just the weapons in reach in case of any other with a different thought.-

SirNeroBanpaiyo: “Let’s get this show down the rode shall we?” Those were the exact words of Lorelei to him. Or something like that, he actually couldn’t hear her that well cause of that …feeling. The knots on his stomach was back. He couldn’t even speak. Uriel just waved his arms and whispered “Okay…I need to calm down.” Uriel tried fanning himself with his hand, but the white silky suit he was in was still keeping him hot. The furs on his shoulders didn’t work either. They gave him that nasty stench of heat. So he kept walking, not speaking to the commoners holding the folded silk for god knows what, and even the chambermaids. Uriel just followed Lorelei, not thinking of anything, his long boots clicked the ground as he kept walking. When they were at the door, two guards were positioned at the door with the huge hats and the spears. They had the spears in a cross, but when they saw them, they opened the spears. Allowing them to pass. Outside, was the path to the great celebration. And as they kept walking, the guards followed. Uriel glared at Lorelei and said “Sis, I’m scared.”

LoreleiRoseCarrendar: – An interesting time in the hamlet of Twisted Woods to be sure. The town not only burying their dead from the attack of guards loyal to the Scorpion king, but now the soon to be giving of robes and the ceremony to mark the new Mayor of the town. From rooftops and the city square did banners and flags fly. Girls in best dresses, boys in their sunday best. Groomed and clean, for once. Course, this would make for a weary traveller a welcoming sight. And so, when Niamh entered the gates, he would come to see this place on one of its better days. Standing near the hall, two guards, both wearing wreathes of flowers around their helms, one chewing on an apple lazily. (Guard One)”Oi….we got an out of towner?”- his voice rising sharply as he tried to look more menacing holding his spear. The one chewing the apple, swallowed and then as they heard the man sing out. .-”Hello… Is someone here? Niamh is the name. I come from Clashing, way up North… Come in peace, so needles worry-ing. Just need a drink and a place to sit.”- The guard threw the core of the apple over his shoulder and bellowed loudly. (Guard Two)”Your just in time, squire….fancy pants is being made Mayor. Big shindig at the pub this day. Why even the Prime Minister is here in all her gold. I hear she is single and a bit of a looker.” – the other guard nudged him and frowned. (Guard Two)”Alright..alright. You sir…just come on in the hall, take a seat and watch this lot do their ceremony. You be sure to get the drink and eats…in a bit. If they don’t send you to sleep with their speeches.”- The guards stepped aside, to allow the man entry, as inside, Lorelei was dealing with a very sweaty and nervous brother. (Lorelei)”Just…take a few breathes….breathe…in and out, and let me do the main bit of talking. I know how to rally the townsfolk.” – She stepped up to the top of the hall, and behind a pulpit, bringing out a parchment and then reading the decree. (Lorelei)”On this day in our gods of 1110. There is to be a new name on the list of noblemen to hold office, in this your dear town of Twisted Wood. The same man…who slayed the Scorpion king in this very place. He comes to you now, on my recommedation. I assure you, that under his rightful leadership, that Twisted wood will triumph in adversity….and..he will be held accountable should he fail. I give you….Uriel…Your new Mayor!”- The audience erupted in applause, cheering and stomping as she turned and smirked at her brother. (Lorelei)”Like taking candy from a baby.” You’re up.” <e>

PsycheNiamhGwydion: -Niamh chuckeld at the guards comments and the laid-back attitudes. There seemed to be no harm in this place. When He stepped through the gates as was gestured. after picking up His gear again, to come in His eyes fell on the decoration, indeed it looked like a day of celebration. *Fancy pants.. Being made Mayor…* Niamh wondered who ‘Fancy-Pants.’ was, awaiting to meet them He walked straight to the Hall that He was appointed to. When He walked passed the guards He nodded to them both, in a friendly way, He took a good look around seeing not only the decoration of the town but the facilities as well. It seemed a place where He could find a rest, even if it was just for a moment. The promise made of the drink and eats, made Him long to be in the shades of the Hall, which hopefully would be cooled. His eyes darted from side to side, now and then greeting a passenger. Obviously someone who lived in this unknown-village to Him. Niamh longed to ask, what this place was, but till now He still felt like ‘Alice in Wonderland.’. He took seat when He reached the Hall, just on the first chair He found, looked about the Hall-construction and liked what He saw. Till His eyes fell on the female that spoke from parchment, directing the younger man, who obviously was ‘Fancy Pants…’. He smiled as He was delighted to see such manners, as he hoped to find peace and quiet for a bit. Still Niamh kept nodding now and then to by-passers or others that took seat in the Hallway seen to celebrate this ‘big day’ for them. *…I came in at a good moment, some entertainment and some drinks and eats promised…* Longing for a drink, as the bottle He took was empty already from His times on the hunt, the thoughts crossed His mind. Niamh just patiently waited, till the ‘bar would be opened’. His thoughts went to the fresh caught rabbit in His back-pack, soon He needed to work the corpse. When He was in the woods, hunted the rabbit with ease He had just put it in His pack, thinking that He would work the meat when He was at open field. But when He spotted village at horizon, the rabbit was forgotten. Now the warmth did not do that mean any good. He hoped the ceremony did not take to long, to polite to get up before the speech was done. Yet the meat needed to be dried, before it was rotten inside His back, He regretted now not to have worked it when He had caught it right away. Silently He remained seated, awaiting what was going to happen.-

SirNeroBanpaiyo: “Breath.” Haha, she must’ve felt the same thing when she was sent to be Prime Minister. The pressure, the scare he was feeling. Uriel knew that he stepped in a world of pain, But he couldn’t back down, not now. Not ever, he never backed down. Uriel gripped the railing when he went into the room with Lorelei. And he listened to every word she said. He apparently slayed the black dude that blasted her with the beam. Okay, I guess that is politics since no one really saw what happened. Then it was backed up with he was her first choice ? Well of course he was, he was offered the position. And yes, his suspicions were correct. The responsibility was entirely dropped upon his shoulders. While not particularly oblivious. He still thought he’d be getting some help, but whatever. He was going to own this anyways. Uriel then rolled his eyes, hearing her talk and approached stage before unsheathing his sword. He raised it in front of them , making it lay on his hand and spoke “This…my good people, in the exact same sword that I used in order to slay the beast that terrorized this land. I, along with your Prime Minister and two brave men mowed down the traitors that dared threaten your safety. I cared for you, my people…” He placed the sword back on it’s sheathe. “NO! I love you, my own people…when I was young, twelve…I dreamed of being able to save. To be a hero, and now… It is in front of my face, by this…. People of twisted woods, I shall lead you… to glory!” He gripped his sword once more, rising it in mid air. The guards did the same and released a war cry. And, the people did as well. The smile was present on Uriel’s face as he snickered, but he had an eye contact with a man who was armed and smiled at him, as if telling him to raise his own sword, but he immediately walked back and bowed, watching as the old plump man presented the keys to him. Uriel grabbed then and shook hands, and he went back to his seat, speaking to Lorelei “The idiots bought it…”

LoreleiRoseCarrendar:- Yes, twas a glorious day to be a twisted town citizen. Such pomp…such ceremony…so much…sword waving. Yes, oh yes the people bought it. Lapped it all up like hungry kittens to a bowl of cream. Little did they understand the mechanics of spin doctoring or politics for that matter. Her brother behaved, EXACTLY as she had hoped. And with a broad smile as he came to his close, she joined in with that of the towns folk, and clapped in a show of unity and support for her brother in the “fancy pants”. As Uriel took his seat once more, looking less flustered and a whole lot more comfortable with the whole idea, Lorelei went back up to the pulpit to close the ceremony and give the green light for the festivities to commence. (Lorelei)”And now, this is a holiday in celebration of the appointment of Uriel, there is to be a large feast, put on by our very own country women’s association and knitting circle. I do thank Pastor Greers for his donation of the use of the church’s hall tables and pews. Drinks of ale and mead, courtesy of the Squirrel’s nuts Inn. All flowing and free this day. Be sure to dispose of your rubbish and bones in the bins provided. Remember…Twisted wood was tidy town of 1108.” -she held up her fist in a show of her support. ” In Lacardis….WE TRUST!”- The townsfolk all rose to their feet and joined in with their prime minister in the nations cry. The doors then thrown open to a welcoming sight. Row upon row of tables, filled with meats, breads, cheeses soups, and stews. Mouthwatering and the scents from the spit delectable. As all would disperse, Lorelei would jump down from the stage and make her way through the passage between the seats till she clapped eyes on Niamh. Not having seen him ever before, she narrowed her gaze, curious. (Lorelei)”Is it me…or do I smell a fresh rabbit in your pocket?”

PsycheNiamhGwydion: -Niamh looked at the crowd and spotted ‘mrFancy Pants.’ to walk ahead of the crowd to the podium where one of His crew, or even a Family-member held the speech to crown in Him in some way. He noticed Him to take out His sword and immediatly Niamhs placed His hand on the hilt of His sword. The Sword named -’The Wickey’. Given by the one that raised the half-Elven, an old Viking that stood up to be His ‘father’ after He had left Middle-Earth to be away from the hardship endured during the wars. His Mother of human-kind had taken Him away from His Father Eru, to be amongst the Vikings, to Her it seemed more safe to have Her children there. And it was true. He was raised by Glaku His substitute ‘Father’ when amongst the Vikings, a hunter. And at one point the sword was given. His hand on the hilt made Him think of His ‘substitute Father’ whom had died in a fight with a hurd of wolves. His Father had not died on the battle-field, but evenso He had died with honor, and fought to the last moments. When the crowed rised after the words of “Fancy Pants.’ And stood to raise the sword with Him. Niamh never hesitated and cheered while He unseathed the sword to raise it up in armorly/ brotherly ways, as if He was one of them. The thought went through His mind that He was alone a long time, and inspite of not being the jealous one He felt a kind of a sting with all these seemingly caring people/ beings around. They seemed to be one, and had grown into something Niamh never had since He left the Vikings after His Mother had left life not even two months after His ‘Father’ to have a life on His own.-”To the new mayor…”-Niamh cheered with all the others, before seathing back the sword and picking up the back-pack. As then the female passed by Him and immediatly sented the fresh-caught rabbit in His back-pack He looked down at it, and nodded. When His gaze went back to Her He spoke.-”Yes Ma’am, I have caught a lively rabbit that lost its life in my hands and I need to work the meat, before it rotts…Might You have a place where I can do this? Nice meeting You anyways… I am Niamh from Gwydion. Clashing up North”-He pointed north while He whiped His hand clean on His cloak before stretching it out to shake Hers. He was not well aware of all the formalities in this village, but it seemed the right way to respond as the Lady had adressed to Him so apropriate. The promise made had seen to come true and the drinks were near. He couldn’t wait to sit with them and enjoy the meals prepared. And have some mead wit it.-

SirNeroBanpaiyo: Uriel smiled, pleased with himself. He knew he handled the situation…like a boss. Which was funny cause now he was a boss. But he watched as Lorelei gave the final speech. He knew that after the last click of her tongue, the noblemen would turn into beasts, ravaging the food and the wine. While not a stranger to feasting upon food. He found disgust within their actions, that proved that they were hypocrites. Uriel stood up and clapped when Lorelei finished her speech, and as expected, the people started going on different pews. And Uriel squealed in excitement. He jumped from the stage towards the desert area. He loved sweets so much. Smiling at the choices of food and the beautiful smell that filled his nostrils. Uriel wanted to just attack the table. at it. But he needed to take care of something. Uriel grabbed the apple pie and grinned at Lorelei’s direction before slowly approaching her, and he didn’t wait, he gave her a wolf whistle and chucked the pie at her. Uriel didn’t even notice Lorelei conversing with another person before he yelled “FOOD FIGHT!!!!”

LoreleiRoseCarrendar: – Now, still in the hall, Lorelei had come to a stop before the large gentleman that smelt of freshly killed rabbit. Yes Ma’am, I have caught a lively rabbit that lost its life in my hands and I need to work the meat, before it rotts…Might You have a place where I can do this? Nice meeting You anyways… I am Niamh from Gwydion. Clashing up North”- Niamh stated, his voice one of esteem, and his body actions were to whip his hand free of his cloak, and offer it to shake the Prime Minister’s hand. Impressed by his state of dress, his accent, and above all manners, she warmly reciprocated and took his hand in her own, shaking it firmly. (Lorelei)”Lorelei of Arachnea. Delighted to make you acquaintance. And yes, the ladies of the CWA I am sure are well able to take this rabbit of yours and prepare it to have with a nice spot of mead.”- she offered her arm, so he may then head outside with her, to join those of the townsfolk, who were all getting stuck into the food and drink. But sure enough there was one person missing from the festivities. The widow of the late Mayor of Twisted wood. A busty woman, who wore all black, and a veil to cover her face. (Mayor’s widow)”Lady..CARRENDAR…Might I have a word?!” -she boomed in that dreaded voice of hers. Just then, her brother yelled out “FOOD FIGHT!!!!” -this of course, brought on a typical reaction from Lorelei. “Duck!”- and so she ducked, and the plate of hot apple pie, flew right into the face of…..(Mayor’s Widow)”EEEEEEK!!!”- Yes, got her right in the kisser. Lorelei rose up and tried to stifle her laughter as she chortled to her brother. (Lorelei)”Oh Uriel…meet your new bride.” Bits of hot apple pie fell onto the ground at the enrgaged woman’s feet as Lorelei tried to take her new found friend, Niamh over to the ladies of the CWA, to have his rabbit prepared for dinner. <3>

PsycheNiamhGwydion: -Niamh blinked when a sudden shout of ‘Fancy Pants’ echoed throughout the village. He smirked when He thought about what was going to happen. “Fancy Pants’ would get His clothes all dirty. His gaze stranded at the Lady, that took His hand and He held it for a moment, a nod of the head and when She spoke Her name He repeated.-”Well MiLady Lorelei of Arachnea, it is a great pleassure to even be here. I might not have found the village if I was not that far from home in need of a drink.”-She then spoke of the rabbit being taking care of by the ladies that prepared the stews of day. He shrugged and thought*…Why not…* He then reached in His back-pack and just got the dead rabbit out, more to show that He indeed carried the animal and to show He was dedicated to the hunt and capable to Her, then to offer it in Her clean hands. But still He looked around if one came to un-do Him from this meat and prepare it to be ready to eat. As She then moved up Her arm, for Him to take as gentleman and escort Her outside to the food-tables set. He hushed to push the rabbit back in the pack. Again cleaned His hands on His cloack before gently placing His hand to cup Her elbow, while they walked outside together. The moment She yelled to ‘Duck…’was the moment He did. A good listener only needs half an ear. But when He then looked up, and besides them to see another lady catching the pie right in the middle of Her face. He laughed, just not to loud. Still unfamilliar with the ways of this new-found village, He did not mean to be as loud. His hand raised in front to cover His mouth, and hide the laughter, which ‘Fancy Pants’ had created. Niamh did not mean to make the Lady who caught the pie so welly in the face, uncomfortable so He just let go of the arm of Lorelei of Arachnea, and searched for a coock to prepare His rabbit as said.-

LoreleiRoseCarrendar: – Taking the clean rabbit from Niamh’s hands, she was now able to present it to the fine ladies of the CWA, who all gushed and giggled like they were back in school over the devilishly handsome Niamh. (Lorelei)”Right Ladies, not every day you get a bunny handed down from such a noble. Be well to make sure its tender and served with vegetables and sour dough before serving it. We will be over at the Inn’s stall getting some mead.”- The ladies all started to pull on the bunny, one had an ear, the other a foot, tugging madly. (Country woman)”I saw him first, I will gut it!”- The other lady puffed and struggled, her knarled fingers around the foot- (Country woman 2)”He was looking at my breasts..not you, Esmerelda…I get to gut it.”- So, leaving the quarreling women behind, Lorelei glanced back at the Mayor’s widow, who was scraping off the apple pie from her veil. (Mayor’s widow)”So…your my NEW Husband?” Poor poor Uriel. That wife of the old Mayor, she was a looker alright, but god, could she talk under water. One thing Lorelei hated was being bored to tears by the never ending rants and lectures that woman gave at the CWA meetings. Fancy pants was looking decidedly uncomfortable, but, it was all part of the package. Just, Lorelei didn’t get around to explaining that part. On reaching the bar, Lorelei and Niamh would be handed mugs of mead, and turning around, so she could lean against the bar,and watch the villagers amuse themselves in the food fight ruckus, she said with a smile. (Lorelei)”Not the brightest bunch in the nation…but damn can they party.”

PsycheNiamhGwydion: -Niamh just looked at the women who were fighting over the rabbit it had taken, now it had turned into a gift to the party and a gift to the woman, who were maybe even more fighting for Niamhs attention then the actuall rabbit. As one had called out that He ‘Was looking at Her breasts.’ He shook His head. For this was not case at all. He smirked and thought…*She wished…*. His gaze went back to LadyLorelei and watched Her get the mugs in handing one of them to Him. He took it and sipped from the mead, letting the taste soothe His dry mouth. With closed eyes He stood a moment, still enjoying the fact that a food-fight had started and the women fighting over the rabbit. *Poor rabbit…* He thought, and hoped they wouldn’t bruise the meat to much. He raised a hand as if He were to speak to tell them to be careful, but then lowered His hand again and thought there was enough food to enjoy, if the rabbit would get messed up then so it be. He stared a little at LadyLorelei enjoying Her watch at the villagers heaving their fun around the tables with the food that smelt deliscious and mrFancy Pants who was still having fun having thrown a pie in His new wifes face. *He will get some … later…* Went through Niahms mind, and He smiled at that. The mug with mead He emptied with ease to put it back on the counter and ask for a bit more. He then turned back to Lady Lorelei and asked.-”Is there some place I can fill my cans with water for my next trip? I ran out. And maybe I can make some lunch-packets for my next hunt? If there is any payment needed that would not be a problem to me.”-He smiled at Her politely, and waited for Her answer.-
